Hi there!

I’m Suzan Colón, former Editrix of Star Hits Magazine in the awesome 1980s. Welcome to Like, Totally!!, my version of a teen magazine…for aging teenagers who grew up on ‘70s music and comics, who loved the ‘80s, and who still love that music and now read graphic novels (aka comics for grownups).

When I was a kid, I loved drawing, writing, and music. I used to write the names of my favorite bands on my notebooks and school desks, I drew pictures of pop stars I loved, and I wrote about my life. Somehow, I managed to make a career out of various combinations of those things! I’ve written books, I’ve illustrated essays, and I’m creating a graphic novel, all with a soundtrack playing in the background.

Like, Totally!! is the name of my future graphic novel about my time as a pop music journalist in the ‘80s. Until then, this newsletter will be posts about ‘70s and ‘80s pop culture; drawing as a sanity-and-serenity-restoring thing I do; peeks at my sketchbook, art supplies I love, graphic novels and books on drawing; and more fun.
