When looking at the prompts for this year’s #Selfietember drawing challenge, I had to ask myself what I might have been thinking. Feisty? Hangry? What do those expressions look like? And how do we draw them?

Very well, apparently, judging from the results. I have to say, I adore you all. Your versions of these not-exactly-easy prompts have been nonstop delightfulness. Your impishness is downright impy, your feistiness true fiest, and I would not want to be around you when you’re hangry (unless I was bearing pizza).

New Playlist: I made a Spotify playlist of all the songs that appeared in the September 1984 issue of Star Hits magazine, where I once reigned supreme-ish in a nearly cinematic rise from lowly intern to lowly-paid Editrix In Chief! My coming-soon web comic will bear only the most coincidental similarities to this amazing tale. Meantime, dance dance dance to the playlist!

OMG Brush With Fame Dept.: As I mentioned (at length) in my recent post, I am deep in a Van Halen obsession, a resurgence of my teen adoration of the band. This was all rekindled by the news that VH drummer Alex Van Halen’s memoir is out next month. AVH is doing a 3-city book tour—which sold out in minutes. *sob* But, through a few small miracles, I got a ticket!!!!! I am actually going to meet Alex Van Halen¹ when he autographs my book. I cannot EVEN. I will take pics and write a far too-detailed report after this dream-like event!
